Small town RJ now becoming popular on YouTube

New Delhi: Himani Chawda, a full time YouTuber with more than 19K Subscribers or say Travel Vlogger on her channel Wanderlust – Born to Travel, where she share videos about her travel experiences to inspire others and she also review the brand products and a social media influencer with more than 10k Followers.

Her journey is quite different from others in many ways. Himani Chawda, Raipur based Gujrati girl belonged to a middle class family educated in Commerce background from PTRS University, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. She wants to be a Radio Jockey(RJ), but her family won’t allow as per their mindset, Radio Jockey profession is not for reputed families, society doesn’t consider this profession for girls.

Luckily, later she joined Radio Rangila as a HR, but one day the circumstances made her to speak in front of Mike as a Radio Jockey, that day was DREAM COME TRUE for her and she did her best. After that she did many shows some of them were very famous like PINK (Rang nahi Ek soch), Travel Diaries, Yeh shaam masstaani and Weekend Wow etc with time she build up her own audience who just want to hear her voice got so much appreciation and then she never looked back.

Though it was not so easy journey from convincing her parents to build up a her own audience, but she did it “When you really desire something from the heart and soul, all the universe conspires you to achieve it.” Two of her main shows Travel Diaries and PINK were so famous amongst Chhattisgarh and gave her own identity. Travel Diaries where she promotes Chhattisgarh tourism and talk about the places she visits.

PINK was with tagline “Rang nahi ek Soch” it was about Women Empowerment where she interviewed Independent Women from different fields like Doctor, Lawyer, Politicians, Police etc talk to them about their hurdles in their journey to inspire other womens.

The show was famous amongst the audience from both the genders. Being a RJ, one of her biggest achievement was that she was one of those 5 RJs from India to get selected for RJ exchange program(Foreign Press Centre, Washington, US) by Us Consulate, Mumbai.

Where they exchanged idea about Freedom of Press, How things works in Radio and how can it be improvised. All of them also got interviewed in two FM stations of Silicon Valley, San Francisco. It was 10 days long program in four cities of USA (San Francisco, Nashville, New York and Washington).

Mr Kishore Chawda, her father, said during one of the interview, Travel is something she born to and the title she has got from her audience was “Ghummakkadd”. Initially, parents and society raise question about her solo travel but passion rules us all, and she made her first solo trip to Sikkim in 2015 and now she has covered almost India. Now a days she has been shifted to Gurgaon and living her dream life where she travel most of the time as a Travel Vlogger and runs her YouTube channel called Wanderlust- Born to Travel.

During one of her interviews she said, “One should keep travelling to learn from life, explore yourself and to know about your capabilities and I must say for me travel is therapy and I can’t imagine my life without travel.” She share videos related to her travel experiences and breaks the stereotypical thinking about Girl Solo Travel on it.

People are appreciating her works, she is getting good response over it and has created a good number of audiences there as well. She is also a Social Media influencer with more than 15K followers where she promotes brands. She equally into social work she don’t miss any opportunity to spend her time doing social work through sponsoring or any other way to work for social cause.

For all these achievements she gives credit to her Family, Friends who helped her and understand about her passion not gave heed to trolls.  Today, she is an inspiration for women and given a sharp answer to the society who raise question on various professions. Recently she has been awarded with the Naari Shashkti, Karan Samman at Raipur, Chhattisgarh on International Women’s Day, 8th March 2018.
